STEPHEN McCARTNEY – PLANNING AND PROJECTS MANAGER

Stephen began his aviation career in 1990 with British Aerospace (Commercial Aircraft), Prestwick. He then moved into the Technical Records field with Loganair and later Manx Airlines.

He then became Technical Records Manager at British Airways Connect, which at its peak comprised 90+ aircraft operated by BA CitiExpress, BA Cityflyer Express and Brymon Airways.

In 2004, Stephen swapped his desk job for a life on the road as an Aircraft Technical Manager for a leading aviation consultancy firm, working on behalf of Owners/Banks/Leasing companies. In this role, he was heavily involved in Aircraft deliveries, Re-Deliveries and Mid-Lease Inspections. Working with major international leasing companies and regulatory authorities, Stephen headed up teams of auditors responsible for moving over 100+ aircraft from every corner of the globe.

Stephen was promoted to Director of Aircraft Audits, helping the company to obtain Part M Sub Part G approval. He also implemented the installation of the OASES Aircraft Maintenance system – a system he has worked on for over 20 years. Due to his depth of knowledge, Stephen supports the software manufacturer as a contracted trainer for other airlines.

Stephen joined Vector Aircraft Services early in 2011 as Planning & Projects Manager, bringing his vast experience and knowledge to help to continue to build Vector’s reputation as one of the leading independent Part M Sub Part G organisations.
